About the Institution

Mount Litera Zee School, Islampur (West Bengal) is a CBSE-affiliated, co-educational K–12 institution serving North Dinajpur and the surrounding districts of North Bengal. Part of the Zee Learn school network, the School currently educates approximately 750 students and maintains residential facilities for boys and girls. The institution is presently in an expansion phase, extending its academic programme through the senior secondary stage.

The Role

The Principal serves as the academic and administrative head of the institution, reporting to the Management. The appointee will be entrusted with the School's academic direction, statutory compliance, staff development and overall institutional standing in the region.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide academic leadership across Grades I–X, with direct accountability for CBSE board examination outcomes.
• Oversee curriculum planning, instructional quality, assessment practice and pedagogical standards in line with CBSE and NEP 2020 frameworks.
• Ensure complete compliance with CBSE affiliation bye-laws, including documentation, inspections, upgradation applications and periodic returns.
• Lead recruitment, induction, appraisal and continuous professional development of academic and support staff.
• Supervise day-to-day school administration, including timetabling, examinations, discipline, safety and the residential wing.
• Build and sustain constructive relationships with parents, the Management, Zee Learn and the wider community.
• Prepare and present periodic reports on academic performance, staff productivity and operational matters to the Management.

Qualifications and Experience

• Post-graduate degree in any discipline, together with a B.Ed. from a recognised university. M.Ed. will be considered an advantage.
• Minimum 10 years' experience in the teaching profession, of which at least 5 years must be in a leadership capacity (Principal, Vice-Principal, Headmaster/Headmistress or Academic Coordinator) at a CBSE-affiliated school.
• Demonstrable record of board examination results and academic improvement.
• Working knowledge of CBSE affiliation procedures, OASIS, and school management/ERP systems.
• Strong command of spoken and written English. Working familiarity with Bengali or Hindi will be an advantage.
• Candidates willing to relocate to Islampur, or already based in North Bengal, Bihar or Sikkim, are encouraged to apply.
