Job Description
Business Development Manager
Apply promptly! A high volume of applicants is expected for the role as detailed below, do not wait to send your CV.
- Off-Grid Energy East Scotland £40,000 basic, £90,000-£100,000 OTE, company car • Earn the kind of money that will elevate your lifestyle • Enjoy total autonomy paired with maximum training and support • Get involved in highly varied and interesting projects in the energy sector THE CLIENT A business that helps everyone from small leisure operators to large industrial sites cut what they pay for off-grid energy, with the whole installation taken care of and nothing to pay upfront.
For customers who can't plug into the mains, it is the cheapest and best supported option on the market, and that is what you will be putting in front of them.
The price advantage is real, not a sales line.
The business supplies other players in the market at wholesale level, which means competitors are effectively buying from it, and nobody can undercut it.
In practice you walk into every conversation with the best offer on the table, backed by a support team that customers rate highly, rather than apologising for a premium or fighting on margin.
It is also an aggressive, ambitious player, determined to do everything it can to be number one in its market, and it is putting serious investment behind that, including a growing range of lower-carbon fuels for customers who want to cut their footprint.
Scotland is where the untapped opportunity sits: a territory with a database of 6,000 live leads and plenty of customers who have never been properly approached.
If you want something new that you can build, rather than a patch somebody else has already picked clean, this is it.
THE ROLE Scotland's off-grid energy users are largely untapped, and this territory is yours to open up.
It is a field-based new business role: around 80% of your time is spent hunting, in front of prospects who have never had a quote like this one.
The other 20% is looking after your key accounts when pricing and renewals come up, with internal teams handling day-to-day customer management, so your diary stays pointed at winning new business.
The work is as varied as the customers.
One week it is a renewable energy producer, the next an asphalt plant or a heavy industrial site that can't realistically go electric, then a leisure operator who simply wants a cheaper, cleaner way to run.
You will talk customers through what their off-grid energy project needs and how much energy they will really consume.
You win the business by being the person who makes that easy and shows them the saving.
Your patch runs from Aberdeen and Inverness through Perthshire, Dundee, Fife and Stirling to Edinburgh and the Borders, and you run it your way.
There is total autonomy over your diary and your approach, paired with serious investment in your training and support from day one.
Technical knowledge is something the business will teach you; what it wants is someone with the commercial drive to go and win.
ABOUT YOU You are a hunter who loves opening doors and closing business, and you have a stable career behind you to prove you can do it.
Your background can be from any sector: full training is provided, and what matters is that you are a likeable, warm and genuine salesperson who really enjoys building relationships and knows how to hold your own with owners, operations directors and site managers alike.
You are the kind of person people remember: charismatic, articulate and personable, with a big personality that gets you a second meeting.
You are self-motivated and organised enough to run a large territory without anyone looking over your shoulder, and you want your earnings to reflect what you win.
If you are based somewhere in the Inverness, Aberdeen and Perthshire triangle, or anywhere across the east of Scotland, this is a patch you can cover from your own front door. xrexnqw
THE REWARDS £40,000 basic salary with £50,000-£60,000 commission on top, taking on-target earnings to £90,000-£100,000.
A company car to get you around the patch, full training with heavy investment from the business, and the support of a team that wants you to win.
