Kerley, Walsh, Matera & Cinquemani, P.C. a collegial law firm with offices in Long Island, New York City, and New Jersey, seeks an appellate attorney admitted in New York to join its litigation defense team (of counsel) at our Seaford, New York location (and/or via remote location). The attorney will be working alongside seasoned attorneys that specialize in varied practice areas, including medical malpractice, premises liability, and New York Labor Law.DutiesAppellate advocacy: assess appealability and prepare persuasive briefs.Conduct complex legal research and draft memoranda.Provide research and support on intricate cases.Draft pre-trial, post-trial, and dispositive motions.Conduct oral argument for appeals and motions.QualificationsJuris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.Admission to the bar in New York.Experience in appellate advocacy.Proven experience in litigation with an emphasis on insurance defense (but not required).Strong skills in legal research and writing; ability to produce high-quality legal documents efficiently.Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.What Sets Us Apart  Reasonable workload: We respect your time and energy.
