Head of strategy & venture development
K2 Venture · Bangalore, India
Job Description
The role Take ventures from thesis to launch decision. You will own the evaluation frameworks, business cases, and strategy behind a portfolio of companies being built to hold for decades — not to flip.
What you will do Own the venture evaluation framework: stage gates from thesis → validation → business case → launch decision Build complete business cases: market entry strategy, unit economics, financial models, capital plans, and risk analysis Define strategy at two levels — group portfolio strategy and individual venture strategy Run venture design sprints alongside the research, organisation design, and operations leads Recommend build / partner / acquire paths and support the founder on capital allocation decisions Craft investment narratives and support fundraising materials Review portfolio performance and make scale / pivot / stop recommendations
What you have done 8–12 years in strategy consulting, corporate development, venture building, venture capital, or corporate strategy Built business cases and financial models that led to funded launches or investments Taken at least one product, venture, or market entry from concept to live P& L — real zero-to-one experience Defended recommendations in front of boards, investment committees, or founders
Good to have: Venture studio experience; multi-sector exposure; MBA from a top-tier institute.
Why join: You set the strategic agenda for an entire portfolio; permanent capital means your business cases get built and compounded, not exited; a founding seat at the decision table.
