Role Description The Maths HOD (Cambridge Experience is mandatory) is a full-time, on-site leadership role based in Hyderabad. The role involves overseeing the Mathematics department, particularly the Cambridge curriculum, ensuring high-quality instruction and alignment with school standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include designing and reviewing curriculum and schemes of work, guiding lesson planning, mentoring and supporting math teachers, and monitoring teaching methodologies to improve learner outcomes. The HOD will conduct classroom observations, coordinate assessments, analyze student performance data, and implement interventions where needed. The role also includes collaborating with school leadership, organizing subject-related workshops or enrichment activities, and maintaining clear communication with stakeholders regarding academic progress and department initiatives.
Qualifications
Strong subject expertise in Mathematics and Mathematics Education, with proven ability to teach and lead across relevant grade levels. Demonstrated experience in Curriculum Development and Lesson Planning, specifically within the Cambridge curriculum framework (Cambridge experience is mandatory). Excellent Communication skills, including the ability to collaborate with teachers, learners, and school leadership, and provide constructive feedback. Previous experience as a department head or academic coordinator, preferably in an international or Cambridge-affiliated school. Relevant bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mathematics or Mathematics Education; additional certifications in Cambridge programs are an advantage. Strong organizational and leadership abilities, including mentoring skills, data-driven decision-making, and commitment to inclusive, learner-centered practices. Ability to manage multiple responsibilities, uphold academic standards, and contribute to co-curricular and school improvement initiatives.
