Application Automation Engineer-DriveWorks

Coronet is seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Mechanical Engineer with strong SolidWorks skills to assist in a DriveWorks development program. The primary objective of this role is to reduce manual engineering work by developing rules-based automation systems capable of generating accurate, standardized customer submittal drawings and bills of materials.The ideal candidate enjoys solving complex engineering challenges, and will work closely with Engineering, Product Development, Customer Service, and production to understand product configurations, establish automation rules, and improve the speed and accuracy of the submittal drawing process. Success in this role requires a strong understanding of mechanical design principles, attention to detail, and the ability to translate product knowledge into structured, rule-based systems.

Responsibilities:Develop, implement, and maintain DriveWorks automation projectsBuild rule-based product configurations for different product familiesAutomate customer submittal drawing generationEnsure automated drawings accurately reflect product specifications, dimensional requirements, and approved engineering configurationsMaintain accurate revision control and documentation for automated drawing templatesTranslate product requirements into automation rulesBuild and update product configuration formsTroubleshoot and improve automation performanceValidate generated drawings and BOMs for accuracyDocument automation logic and best practicesCollaborate with the DriveWorks development team
Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, CAD Design, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.Strong SolidWorks experienceStrong understanding of parametric modeling, design rules, conditional logic.Analytical and problem-solving skillsStrong attention to detailExperience with scripting, Excel logic, or programmingStrong communication and teamwork skillsDriveWorks experience is an asset (training provided)Lighting industry experience is a plusExperience in configure-to-order or custom manufacturing environments is an asset
