About the Opportunity -Our client is an established General Contractor seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent with a proven background in industrial cold storage construction.
The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience working on industrial cold storage facilities, refrigerated distribution centres or temperature-controlled warehouses. They will oversee site operations, manage subcontractors and coordinate construction activities to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule and to specification.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Superintendent looking to join an established contractor and contribute to specialist industrial construction projects.
Roles & Responsibilities -Oversee daily site operations on industrial cold storage construction projects.Manage subcontractors, trade partners and site personnel throughout construction.Coordinate schedules, manpower, material deliveries and trade sequencing.Review construction drawings, plans and technical specifications.Coordinate specialist trades involved in industrial cold storage facility construction.Monitor project progress, workmanship, quality control and site safety.Identify and resolve construction issues in coordination with Project Managers and engineers.Lead site coordination meetings and maintain clear communication with project stakeholders.Ensure work complies with relevant building codes, safety regulations and project specifications.Oversee construction activities from mobilisation through completion.
Requirements - Minimum 5 years' experience as a Construction Superintendent.Direct experience with industrial cold storage facilities, refrigerated distribution centres or temperature-controlled warehouses is essential.Experience managing industrial construction projects from mobilisation through completion.Strong knowledge of construction methods, scheduling, site logistics and subcontractor management.Ability to interpret construction drawings and technical specifications.Experience coordinating multiple trades and maintaining project schedules.Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.Knowledge of construction quality control and site safety requirements.Valid driver's licence and ability to work on-site in Itasca, Illinois.OSHA 30 certification preferred.
