Lead a Growing Energy Team as Propane HVAC Department Manager in Buckhannon, WV

Freedom Ag & Energy is seeking an experienced Propane HVAC Department Manager to lead a busy energy operation that includes propane service, residential HVAC maintenance, installations, deliveries, and customer support. This is an excellent opportunity for an HVAC Manager, Propane Operations Manager, Energy Manager, Service Manager, or Plumbing and HVAC Supervisor ready to make a visible impact while leading a skilled team.

What You’ll Do:

• Lead daily propane, petroleum, HVAC, and energy department operations with a strong focus on safe, dependable service.
• Coach, schedule, and support team members while building a high-performing, accountable, customer-focused department.
• Execute operational and growth plans that support sales, margin, service quality, and seasonal business demands.
• Oversee propane receiving, storage, inventory integrity, customer deliveries, fleet assets, and DOT-related requirements.
• Conduct required monthly and annual bulk plant and storage inspections while maintaining EPA, propane, and safety compliance.
• Provide technical leadership for residential HVAC service, installation, refrigeration, piping, plumbing, and related construction work.
• Manage department administrative functions, including billing, receiving, accounts payable, payroll, and construction documentation.

What You’ll Bring:

• You have at least three years of experience in propane, petroleum, HVAC, plumbing, energy, or a closely related service industry, including one year of leadership experience.
• You can confidently manage daily operations, prioritize competing demands, and remove obstacles that affect team productivity or customer service.
• You understand applicable safety standards, EPA compliance, building codes, DOT requirements, and operational inspection processes.
• You hold a valid driver’s license and can obtain a CDL with hazmat endorsement, propane or petroleum certification, and CTEP training as needed.
• You have a bachelor’s degree in business management or a related field, or a combination of completed coursework and relevant experience that demonstrates equivalent preparation.

Technical Expertise:

• You bring hands-on knowledge of HVAC systems, boilers, refrigeration, electrical systems, wiring, sheet metal, pipefitting, PVC, brazing, gauges, hand tools, and blueprint interpretation.
• Master HVAC or Master Plumbing licensure is preferred, or you must be able to obtain the appropriate license for the role.
• EPA Universal certification, journeyman plumbing experience, fire protection knowledge, and building construction experience are valued assets.

Compensation & Benefits:

This in-person leadership role in Buckhannon, West Virginia offers an annual salary of $50,000 to $62,000, along with health, dental, vision, life, short-term disability, and long-term disability insurance.
