Description: Firstcut Design Studio is looking for a creative, self-driven Video Editor who can take ownership of a project from brief to final output. The ideal candidate should be able to understand a brief, develop the visual treatment, identify the right footage, graphics, music, animation style, and transitions, and create an impactful final edit.

We are particularly looking for someone with strong motion graphics and Adobe After Effects skills, along with a willingness to explore AI-powered tools that can improve creative workflows and expand visual possibilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Understand creative briefs and independently develop the end-to-end visualisation and editing approach.
• Edit brand films, corporate videos, event films, interviews, explainer animated videos and motion graphics-led videos and promotional videos.
• Create engaging typography, transitions, visual effects, compositing, and animated graphic elements.
• Select appropriate footage, music, sound effects, graphics, and visual references for each project.
• Translate scripts and storyboards into visually engaging edits with strong pacing and storytelling.
• Work closely with the creative, client servicing, production, and animation teams.
• Manage multiple projects while maintaining quality and meeting timelines.
• Incorporate feedback efficiently and take complete ownership of the final output.
• Explore and learn AI tools that can support editing, animation, visualisation, and content creation.

What We’re Looking For

• 3-4 years of professional video editing experience, preferably in a creative agency, production house, or similar environment.
• Strong working knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects.
• Good understanding of motion graphics, animation, typography, composition, and visual design.
• Strong visual storytelling, editing, and conceptualisation abilities.
• Ability to work independently from a brief without relying on detailed frame-by-frame instructions.
• Good sense of music, pacing, transitions, and sound design.
• Attention to detail and the ability to deliver polished, high-quality work.
• Openness to learning new creative techniques, software, and AI-powered tools.
• A strong portfolio or showreel showcasing video editing and motion graphics work.
