Ascendo Resources (Staffing & Recruiting) in Miami is assisting our client in their search for an Import / Export Coordinator for their ocean freight forward: food industry (logistics) company. Must have import export cargo container experience.

This is an excellent opportunity with a small, yet very fast-growing, food import / export organization. Huge growth potential !

• Documentation Management: Prepare and audit commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, certificates of origin, and specialized food safety or government paperwork (such as FDA, USDA, or USDC filings).
• Assist with Regulatory & Customs Compliance: Ensure food products meet import/export laws, Harmonized Tariff System (HTS) codes, Incoterms, and food-handling or cold-chain rules.
• Assist with Carrier & Broker Coordination: Work directly with ocean/air carriers, freight forwarders, custom brokers, and port terminals to book space and track containers.
• Inspection & Treatment Tracking: Coordinate government inspections, fumigation, or cold-treatment requirements specific to perishable food items.
• Problem Solving: Resolve shipment delays, port holds, documentation errors, or freight billing discrepancies.
• Data & System Tracking: Update ERP, WMS, or inventory management systems (such as SAP, QuickBooks, or ACE) with real-time shipment statuses

Key requirements:

• Bilingual: English / Spanish is a MUST
• Import / Export Experience – MUST, preferably with LATAM countries
• Ocean freight / freight forwarder background required
• Schedule: Monday – Friday
• Some light travel to Latam countries may be required
