About the Role We are seeking a Robotics Design Engineer (Mechanical) to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, prototyping, and validating mechanical systems and subsystems for robotic platforms. The role requires strong expertise in mechanical design, actuator integration, mechanism development, manufacturing processes, and product development.

What You'll Do Mechanical Design & Development

 Design robotic structures, chassis, enclosures, motion systems, and precision mechanisms.

 Develop 3 D CAD models, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings using Autodesk Inventor and Auto CAD.

 Design and optimize links, joints, brackets, mounts, grippers, and actuator interfaces.

 Perform tolerance stack-up analysis and design reviews.

 Develop designs considering reliability, manufacturability, serviceability, and cost.

Motion System Engineering

 Perform calculations related to load, torque, speed, acceleration, and power requirements.

 Select motors, gearboxes, bearings, belts, chains, couplings, and linear motion components.

 Design drive systems for mobile robots and automation equipment.

 Analyze kinematic and dynamic behavior of robotic systems.

Prototype Development & Testing

 Build and evaluate prototypes using CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, laser cutting, and 3 D printing.

 Conduct functional, endurance, vibration, and field testing.

 Investigate failures and implement corrective design improvements.

 Support product validation and engineering change activities.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

 Work closely with electronics, embedded, software, and manufacturing teams.

 Integrate sensors, PCBs, batteries, actuators, and wiring systems into robotic platforms.

 Participate in design reviews and technical discussions.

Documentation

 Create and maintain BOMs, engineering drawings, design calculations, test reports, and release documentation.

 Ensure engineering documentation follows company standards and revision control processes. What We're Looking For

 B. E./B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Robotics Engineering, or related field.

 1–3 years of experience in mechanical design and product development.

 Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor and Auto CAD.

 Strong understanding of machine design fundamentals.

 Experience in actuator selection, gearbox sizing, bearing selection, and structural design.

 Knowledge of manufacturing processes including machining, sheet metal, fabrication, welding, and 3 D printing.

 Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Preferred Skills

 Experience in robotics, AMRs, AGVs, automation equipment, or industrial machines.

 Knowledge of FEA tools such as ANSYS.

 Understanding of IP-rated enclosure design and thermal management.

 Familiarity with sensors, motors, encoders, and control system integration.

 Exposure to Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA).

 Basic understanding of ROS and robotic systems architecture.
