ECC Technician Manager

Philadelphia Animal Specialty and Emergency · United States

FULL TIME

Job Description

Description

PASE is looking for an experienced veterinary technician ready to step into a leadership role on our overnight team. As ECC Clinical Manager, you will own the nightly operations of our Emergency and Critical Care service, working side by side with our hospital service leaders to keep patient care running at the highest level after hours.

This role splits your time between hands-on clinical work and hospital leadership, roughly 75 percent clinical duties and 25 percent administrative. You will co-lead the service alongside the other ECC Clinical Manager, oversee support staff, manage scheduling and workflow, and act as the connective tissue between the overnight team, swing shift, and the rest of the hospital. You will have a technician manager, hospital administrator, and service head backing you every step of the way.

If you are a technician who has outgrown the bedside role but does not want to leave clinical medicine behind, this is a position built for you.

What you will do:

  • Co-lead the overnight ECC team alongside the other ECC Clinical Manager, setting the tone for high-quality, progressive patient care
  • Manage staffing, scheduling, on-call coverage, PTO, and time card accuracy in partnership with the Technician Manager
  • Coach and develop technicians and assistants, contributing to training, leveling, and assessment materials across the department
  • Deliver feedback and hold your team accountable to PASE standards, with kindness and consistency
  • Maintain strong communication across departments, including email and Slack responsiveness and onboarding new hires into hospital systems
  • Partner with the Head of Emergency Medicine and Head of Critical Care to improve daily workflow and manage caseload
  • Champion regulatory compliance (DEA, OSHA) and help build out SOPs that support safe, efficient, forward-thinking medicine
  • Run regular team meetings and participate in PASE management meetings
  • Represent PASE at community, recruiting, and educational events as needed
