Senior Property Accountant / Property Accounting Manager

A well-established and growing real estate owner/operator is seeking a Senior Property Accountant or Property Accounting Manager to join its finance team. This role offers the opportunity to oversee accounting for a diverse real estate portfolio while working directly with senior leadership in a highly entrepreneurial environment.

Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for commercial and residential propertiesAssist with investor reporting and presentation of financial resultsManage accounts payable and accounts receivable processesMonitor cash activity and ensure adequate funding for operational needsPrepare bank reconciliations and maintain loan-related accounting schedulesRecord principal, interest, and escrow transactionsPrepare tenant billings, CAM reconciliations, and real estate tax true-upsMonitor recurring expenses, including utilities and property taxesCalculate investor distributions and preferred returnsSupport acquisitions, refinancing transactions, and other strategic initiativesAssist with year-end audits and tax preparationPrepare and file NYC RPIE reportsPartner with property management and other internal stakeholders on accounting mattersParticipate in special projects as needed
QualificationsMinimum 5 years of accounting experience, preferably within real estateExperience with xzbcwsv commercial and/or residential property accountingStrong Excel skillsExperience with Yardi is a plusStrong understanding of financial reporting, reconciliations, and month-end closeOrganized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple prioritiesExcellent communication and interpersonal skills
