Job Description

North Star Electric is seeking an experienced and dependable Electrician / Foreman to oversee electrical installations on multi-family residential construction projects. This position is responsible for supervising field crews, coordinating with general contractors and subcontractors, ensuring all work meets applicable electrical codes and company standards, and completing projects safely, efficiently, and on schedule.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, supervise, and mentor field crews on active job sites
  • Plan, lay out, and install electrical systems according to blueprints, specifications, and project requirements
  • Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with local, state, and National Electrical Code (NEC) standards
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical issues in the field
  • Coordinate daily work activities and assign tasks to team members
  • Maintain a safe work environment by enforcing company policies and OSHA safety standards
  • Communicate project progress, scheduling needs, material requirements, and challenges with project management
  • Train and develop apprentices and helpers
  • Maintain accurate job documentation, reports, and time records
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with contractors, subcontractors, inspectors, and customers

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on commercial or multi-family residential electrical experience
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience required
  • Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local electrical codes
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and ability to pass a motor vehicle background check
  • Willingness to travel to job sites as needed

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb for extended periods
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds or more
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to safely perform the physical demands of a construction job site
