Data Infrastructure Engineer – Storage & Platforms

We’re looking for an Engineer to join our Data Engineering Infrastructure group, building and scaling the storage and data platforms behind a high-frequency trading operation. This is a hands-on role for someone who likes working near the hardware: running large open-source and enterprise storage systems, tuning Linux for performance, and automating infrastructure. As data volumes keep growing, you’ll be central to keeping the platform fast, resilient and scalable.

What You’ll Do:Build, deploy and run large-scale storage infrastructure across Hadoop, enterprise storage and S3-compatible systemsOptimize Linux systems for I/O throughput and general performanceAutomate deployment and configuration with Ansible, Puppet or similar toolsAdd observability to the platform using Prometheus and associated toolingWork with engineering teams to deliver robust data solutions, especially around storage and KafkaSome exposure to Kubernetes
What You’ll Bring:5+ years in systems engineering, with a strong emphasis on data storageSolid Linux fundamentals and debugging ability, including I/O performance tuningPractical experience xzbcwsv using Ansible and Puppet for automation and config managementKnowledge of open-source, S3 API-compatible and enterprise storage technologiesWorking understanding of the Hadoop ecosystem, including YARNJava and Python experienceComfortable using AI-assisted development tools (e.g. Claude) in an enterprise environmentExperience with Prometheus monitoring and alerting
