Financial analyst

Renowned Recruitment Group · Napa, United States

FULL TIME

Job Description

Location: Napa, California
Schedule: Full-time, onsite

A well-established and rapidly growing engineering organization is seeking a Financial Analyst to join its corporate finance team in Napa.

This is an exceptional opportunity for an early-career financial professional who wants significantly more exposure, responsibility and growth than a traditional Financial Analyst position. Candidates need only two years of relevant experience, but will have the opportunity to work directly with the Controller, executive leadership, project managers and operational leaders.

The Financial Analyst will help transform financial and operational data into meaningful business insights. Rather than simply producing reports, this person will investigate trends, analyze project performance, build management tools and help leadership understand what the numbers mean for the business.

The position offers exposure to FP&A, construction finance, project analytics, executive reporting, tax compliance, systems improvement and emerging AI and automation tools. It is ideal for someone who is analytical, curious, technically capable and eager to build a long-term career within a growing organization.

Develop financial models, cash-flow projections and scenario analyses

TAX AND PAYROLL COMPLIANCE

Assist with monthly, quarterly and annual state and local tax compliance

Support sales and use tax, gross-receipts tax and other applicable filings

Research tax requirements associated with new project locations

Assist with registrations, filing requirements and ongoing compliance obligations

Help respond to tax notices and support audits

Coordinate with internal accounting personnel, external tax advisors and taxing authorities

Serve as a Finance and Accounting contact for payroll-tax administration

Monitor and reconcile federal, state and local payroll-tax filings and payments

Support the annual W-2 reconciliation and correction process

Research payroll requirements when employees begin working in new jurisdictions

Deep tax expertise is not required. The company understands that this is an unusual component of a Financial Analyst position and will provide training and knowledge transfer. The successful candidate must be comfortable researching unfamiliar requirements, asking questions and learning new areas.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, business administration or a related field

At least two years of experience in financial analysis, FP&A, accounting, project controls, tax or a related discipline
