Role Overview:
Neutrino Advisory is seeking an experienced Senior Snowflake Engineer / Architect to support a client engagement focused on building a modern cloud-based data warehouse platform. This role will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing a Snowflake environment on Microsoft Azure, establishing data ingestion frameworks, supporting analytics enablement, and ensuring secure, scalable, and cost-effective operations.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on technical professional with deep Snowflake expertise, strong Python skills, and experience working directly with business and technical stakeholders. This individual will collaborate closely with data engineers, analytics professionals, architects, and client teams to deliver a production-ready data platform.
Key Responsibilities
Snowflake Platform Design & Administration
Design, provision, and configure Snowflake environments on Microsoft Azure.
Establish database structures, schemas, warehouses, resource monitors, roles, and security controls.
Implement role-based access controls (RBAC) following least-privilege principles.
Configure governance, monitoring, and cost management mechanisms.
Optimize warehouse sizing, performance, and resource utilization.
Data Engineering & Ingestion
Develop and maintain data ingestion pipelines into Snowflake.
Create Python-based data loading processes and automation scripts.
Configure staging areas, file formats, and bulk data loading processes using Snowflake capabilities.
Implement metadata tracking, auditing, and operational monitoring.
Ensure data quality, reliability, and repeatable execution processes.
Analytics Platform Enablement
Partner with Analytics Engineers and Data Analysts to support data transformation frameworks.
Collaborate on dbt model deployment, troubleshooting, and optimization.
Support reporting and analytics consumption through Power BI integration.
Validate performance of analytical workloads and reporting queries.
Security & Data Governance
Implement Snowflake security best practices, including RBAC, Dynamic Data Masking, and data access controls.
Support governance initiatives related to sensitive and personally identifiable information (PII).
Establish auditing and monitoring frameworks to support compliance and operational visibility.
Documentation & Client Enablement
Develop technical documentation, operational runbooks, and environment inventories.
Create support and handoff documentation to enable client self-sufficiency.
Participate in client workshops, status meetings, and knowledge transfer sessions.
Communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
6-7 years of IT experience in Data warehouse and data analytics domain.
4+ years of hands-on Snowflake engineering and administration experience.
Proven experience designing and deploying Snowflake environments in production.
Strong experience with Snowflake security, access controls, warehouse management, and performance optimization.
Experience building data ingestion pipelines using Snowflake stages, COPY INTO operations, and related capabilities.
Strong Python programming skills for automation, ETL, and data processing.
Experience working with Git-based source control environments.
Working knowledge of dbt and modern data stack architectures.
Experience supporting reporting and analytics platforms.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience with Snowflake deployments on Microsoft Azure.
Snowflake certification(s).
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Dynamic Data Masking and Row Access Policies.
Experience implementing Fivetran, Airbyte, or similar data integration platforms.
Experience integrating Salesforce data into analytics platforms.
Experience with Power BI and Snowflake connectivity.
Familiarity with nonprofit, mission-driven, or social impact organizations.
Experience supporting cloud data warehouse modernization initiatives.
