Job Description
Registered Nurse – PACU in Rochester, New York. This travel, temporary assignment begins 09/14/2026 for 17 weeks. Work 36 hours per week on a rotating 12-hour shift schedule (days/evenings/nights) in a hospital-based post-anesthesia care unit serving a high-volume, high-acuity level 1 trauma center. Weekly pay ranges from $2,215 to $2,271. Key Highlights

- Schedule: 36 hours per week, 12-hour rotating shifts (D/E/N) with holidays, weekends, on-call and call-back as needed
- Start date: 09/14/2026
- Setting: Post-anesthesia care unit in a high-volume, high-acuity hospital setting (level 1 trauma center)
- Recover and monitor adult postoperative patients in PACU, including airway, breathing, circulation, pain control, and hemodynamic status
- Implement recovery protocols, collaborate with anesthesia and surgical teams, and respond to deterioration or emergent events
- Document patient assessments, medications, vitals, and discharge criteria; ensure accuracy and timely communication
- Maintain patient safety and comfort, manage PACU equipment, and facilitate patient transitions to the next care area
- Uphold infection control, privacy, and professional standards; communicate clearly with team members and families as appropriate
- Active Registered Nurse license in New York
- Minimum two years of nursing experience; PACU experience required, ICU experience preferred
- BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced PACU within a hospital setting and to manage rotating day/evening/night shifts
- Education: Graduation from an accredited nursing program with RN licensure
