Compensation: Compensation for this position starts at $17 per hour.
<b>Responsibilities:</b>
Asset Protection
</p><ul><li>Communicate with leadership regarding encounters and investigations</li><li>Maintain a professional relationship with local authorities and law</li></ul>
enforcement agencies
* Collaborate with law enforcement and other local retailers to identify
organized retail crime threats
<ul><li>Assist leadership with cash handling and transfers</li><li>Observe customers and associates for potential acts of theft or fraud</li><li>Taking appropriate action to prevent theft, apprehending individuals engaged</li></ul>
in theft activity when prevention is not effective
* Conducting surveillance and apprehension of external theft suspects in
compliance with company ethical standards and apprehension guidelines
<ul><li>Monitor video via CCTV and conduct on-site interviews</li><li>Maintaining all apprehension and investigation records according to company</li></ul>
standards
<ul><li>Developing and maintaining knowledge and use of CCTV surveillance equipment</li><li>Assisting in monitoring store compliance with company policies and procedures</li></ul>
relating to theft deterrence, safety, and operational controls, as assigned
by the supervisor
* Maintain a high visible deterrent to crime and positively influence the
security incident rate as well as assist with inventory controls
Safety
* Help mitigate security risks to provide a safer environment for employees and
customers
* Welcome all customers, visitors, and vendors professionally and assist them
in locating staff within the stores
* Issue electric handicapped shopping carts to customers and assist in
obtaining wheelchairs and shopping carts
* Examine and properly tag property being brought into the stores including
personal property, equipment for service, and firearms
* Watch facilities and parking areas on foot. Direct traffic during special
events or heavy customer traffic, while enforcing parking regulations
* Make regularly scheduled floor and exterior walks to ensure the safety and
security of the customers and facility
* Complete monthly reports on safe or non-safe practices found on the sales
floor or backstocks
First Responder
* Help customers and staff with vehicle break-downs and lock-outs and retrieve
shopping carts from parking areas
* React as necessary and assist in handling any situations – shoplifting,
medical emergencies, and inclement weather
* Ability to work assigned schedules which may include varied hours, evenings,
weekends, and holidays.

<b>Education & Experience:</b>
<ul><li>High School Diploma/GED College graduate preferred</li><li>Proven track record of strong communication and organization skills</li><li>Preference for candidates with prior Loss prevention (2-3 years)</li><li>Currently certified or willing to become certified in CPR and OC (Oleoresin</li></ul>
Capsicum aka pepper spray) foam deployment
Schedule
Ability to work nights, weekends, and/or early morning hours based on business
needs.
<b>Physical Requirements/Lifting Requirements:</b>
Must be able to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch,
reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable
accommodation.
Heavy work – Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50
pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move
objects.
Scheels cares about the health and safety of our Associates. Associates are
expected to follow all safety procedures and perform their job duties to
minimize the risk of injury.
Schedule: Typically scheduled 1-2 nights/week (5:00pm-9:00pm) and must be
available two weekends per month - with varied shifts during out business hours
of: 9:30am-9:00pm Monday-Friday, 9:00am-7:00pm Saturday & 11:00am-6:00pm Sunday.
Schedule may include varied hours, evenings, weekends and holidays. Average
Hours: 15-25 Hours/Week.
