Job Duties Reinforces departmental training and education guidelines to scheduling and registration staff using all applications that pertain to the Patient Access Departments, including but not limited to ADS, OneSource, US Pay and Paragon. Assists with training employees and communicates with appropriate parties on schedule and registration changes and audit results. Escalates all patient care barriers as necessary to the appropriate parties, including department leadership. Assists with testing of any new upgrades associated with Patient Access softwares and workflows. Performs monthly review of downtime registration and scheduling forms in all areas. Provides expert knowledge and support to staff members and is recognized as a leader and resource both inter- and intradepartmentally. Maintains regular communication with all outpatient and inpatient department leaders throughout the Medical Center. Assists with the creation of monthly reports on staff productivity and metrics and maintains audit and reconciliation logs for staff review. Ensures that the Patient Access staff are optimizing Resource Scheduling and Registration and will work closely with the management team to recommend any necessary changes and/or enhancements. Execute departmental memos that affect users during weekend and overnight shifts and communicates with external departments with the changes implemented within the Access departments. Assist in the organization of procedural manuals and reference tools to ensure consistent, efficient and effective operations within Patient Access. Review Financial Assistance applications in the ED and schedule and refer to Financial Assistance if further care is needed. Reviews transfers, admissions, direct admits and discharges to ensure orders are fulfilled in a timely fashion. Review staff productivity relating to insurance verification, co-pay collection, financial assistance applications, chart creations, order fulfillment, and general registrations. Review time and attendance and escalate as needed. Customer Service: respect, flexibility, knowledge, confidence, professionalism, pleasant attitude, patience and helpfulness. All responses should be timely, professional, caring, and respectful in accordance with Customer Service Performance expectations Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental, and infection control standards. Assesses gaps in policies and procedures, and create necessary policies and procedures to fulfill these gaps. Understands and adheres to the Medical Center’s Code of Conduct. Familiar with the Medical Center’s Mission, Vision, and Values Statements.
OTHER JOB DUTIES
Assists with the direction of the department and manages daily operations in the absence of the Manager and director. Provides coverage in any Patient Access area, as necessary. Performs other duties as assigned to support the overall objectives of the department and organization.BASIC COMPETENCIES
Education Bachelor's Degree preferred. Experience Three to five years training and healthcare experience preferred. Skills Excellent oral and written communication skills. Good interpersonal skills. Speaks, reads and writes English to the extent required by the position. Salary commensurate with experience within posted range. $55,000-$77,000/Year Please note that selection of the candidate for any position will depend on several factors, including the individual’s educational background, skills, and professional experience.
