Role Description The Senior Fashion Technical Designer role is a full-time, on-site position based in the New York City Metropolitan Area. The Technical Designer will translate design concepts into accurate technical packages, including detailed specs, construction notes, and garment measurements. Day-to-day responsibilities include collaborating with design and production teams, overseeing fit sessions, updating patterns and tech packs based on fit comments, and ensuring consistency in quality and fit across styles. The role also involves reviewing samples for construction and workmanship, troubleshooting production issues with factories, and maintaining clear documentation to support efficient product development and timely delivery.
QualificationsMust have 7-10 Years Experience.Strong proficiency in Technical Design, including creating detailed tech packs and specifications.Hands-on experience with Garment Construction and Fitting, with the ability to assess fit and make precise adjustments.Pattern Making skills and understanding of pattern corrections to achieve intended design and fit.Ability to apply structural and spatial thinking similar to Architecture, supporting garment engineering and problem-solving.Proficiency with industry-standard software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Excel; CAD or 3D tools a plus).Experience working with eveningwear or special occasion apparel and luxury fabrics is highly beneficial.Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple styles and deadlines.Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with design, merchandising, and factory partners.Relevant degree in Fashion Design, Technical Design, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
