Project Finance & Development Associate

Our client, a premier global law firm, is seeking a mid-level Associate (4-6 years of experience) to join its Energy Project Finance & Development Practice. The ideal candidate can be resident in Charlotte or DC.

This role is ideal for candidates with significant experience in energy project development, project finance, and M&A transactions involving sponsors, investors, developers, suppliers, and lenders. The position offers substantial responsibility, direct client interaction, and the opportunity to work on sophisticated renewable and conventional energy transactions nationwide.
Key ResponsibilitiesRepresent clients in energy project development, project finance, and M&A transactions.Draft and negotiate primary and ancillary transaction documents, including purchase and sale agreements, financing agreements, joint venture agreements and investment agreements, including tax equity investments.Advise on project development matters involving offtake agreements and interconnection agreements.Coordinate transaction execution and closing processes.Supervise and mentor junior associates and internal specialist teams.Analyze issues relating to energy regulation, project real estate matters, and permitting requirements.QualificationsJuris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.Admission to at least one U.S. state bar.Strong drafting and negotiation experience with complex transaction documents.Experience with a variety of agreements (offtake, interconnection, project development, joint venture, etc.).Familiarity with energy regulatory frameworks and permitting requirements. xzbcwsv Demonstrated ability to manage complex diligence and transaction processes.
