Freelance Senior Technical Designer, Junior Tops

We're hiring a freelance Senior Technical Designer for Junior Tops at a fashion brand in NYC. The Sr. Technical Designeris responsible for all areas of the technical design process. This position supports the Wholesale Apparel business. The responsibilities described below are considered essential functions of the role. This position is based in the NYC office and requires working on-site.Pay rate: $50/hourResponsibilities:Manage the technical design lifecycle, from initial development through pre-production approvalGenerate technical specification packages. Analyze and evaluate samples for spec, pattern and construction. Partner with Designers to understand and execute the design concept / fit intent, while ensuring that samples are optimized for bulk productionConduct fit evaluations on live models to analyze balance and fit. Provide recommendations for adjustments. Capture team feedback and process fit comments accordinglyClearly communicate all fit, quality, and construction corrections to overseas partners through written comments, photographs, diagrams, and pattern corrections.Proactively identify and resolve production, quality, and costing issuesTrack and manage workflowManage daily correspondence with overseas factoriesAble to manage multiple projects and deadlines with support and resources as neededPerform other duties and special projects as assignedRequired Qualifications:8+ years of experience as a Technical Designer80% cut/sew and 20% wovensExperience with junior's apparelExtensive knowledge of garment construction and pattern makingProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe IllustratorHighly proficient in ExcelIf you meet the required qualifications and are interested in this role, please apply today.
