Position Overview United Health Services (UHS) is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our dedicated care team in Endicott, NY. Primary Department, Division, or Unit: UHS Primary Care Endicott Primary Work Shift: Day Rotational Regular Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 Compensation Range: $22.97 - $34.46 per hour, depending on experience ----- Sign-On Incentives: Up to a $10,000 sign-on bonus for candidates who meet eligibility criteria. Talk with your recruiter to learn more. Job Responsibilities:
- Perform clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, collecting specimens, and assisting with procedures, always within the LPN scope of practice and under supervision when required
- Administer medications safely and accurately, utilizing knowledge of pharmacology and following UHS policies and current clinical standards
- Educate patients and their families on health promotion, disease prevention, and management strategies, as directed by a provider or registered nurse
- Support and ensure compliance with all regulatory standards including Joint Commission, NYS Department of Health, and infection control protocols
- Perform CLIA-waived laboratory testing, including quality control procedures, documentation, and participation in tri-annual AAFP proficiency testing
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record system to support patient safety and care coordination
- Participate in department-specific credentialing and lab validations as required by practice standards and regulations
- Collaborate with providers, RNs, and the broader care team to coordinate patient care and promote positive health outcomes
- Assist with front office functions such as scheduling, patient intake, and communication of clinical instructions when appropriate
- Actively engage in Performance Improvement (PI) initiatives by reviewing data, offering feedback, and implementing changes to enhance care quality
- Maintain clinical competency by participating in ongoing training, in-services, and educational opportunities
- Uphold a culture of patient-centered care by contributing to a safe, respectful, and welcoming environment for all individuals
- Graduated an accredited school of Practical Nursing
- Current New York State Practical Nurse License, a Limited Permit, or ability to practice within the 90 day grace period allowed by New York State guidelines
