What's in it for you?

Take ownership of automation and control improvements across multiple industrial operations, with direct influence on plant reliability, production performance and safety.

This is a hands-on engineering role offering a mix of site support, project work and system modernisation. You’ll work closely with operations, maintenance and engineering teams, solving real plant issues while helping shape longer-term automation strategy across the region.

Package & Benefits

Benefits

  • Excellent base salary and performance-linked package reflecting experience and impact
  • Exposure to multi-site automation and controls projects
  • Up to 25% travel across the US and Canada
  • Direct involvement in PLC, SCADA, instrumentation and industrial network improvements
  • Strong visibility across plant operations and engineering leadership
  • Ongoing technical development and career progression
  • Opportunity to influence automation standards and future system upgrades

Why This Business

This is a large-scale industrial manufacturer with continued investment in plant reliability, automation and operational improvement across its North American operations.

The role offers the technical complexity of a major industrial environment combined with the autonomy to influence how automation systems are developed, improved and supported across multiple sites.

You’ll be close to the operation, working directly with plant teams and seeing the impact of your work firsthand.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead automation and process control improvements that enhance safety, reliability, and production efficiency
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex PLC, SCADA, instrumentation, and network issues across manufacturing operations
  • Support automation upgrades, plant network projects, and digital transformation initiatives
  • Develop reporting, data acquisition, and visualisation solutions that improve operational decision-making

What You'll Bring

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in industrial automation, process controls, or control systems engineering
  • Strong knowledge of Allen Bradley PLC platforms, HMI/SCADA systems, and industrial networking
  • Experience supporting manufacturing, mining, minerals, cement, lime, or other heavy industrial environments
  • Degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Process Control, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline

Who This Suits

You’re a technically strong engineer who enjoys being close to the operation and solving real plant problems.

You want a role with more ownership than pure support, and you’re comfortable working across controls, instrumentation, networks and process improvement. You enjoy collaborating with site teams and want the opportunity to influence automation strategy across more than one operation.
