Role Description The Attending Consultant Gastroenterology is a full-time, on-site role based at Accord Superspeciality Hospital in Faridabad. The consultant will provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient gastroenterology care, including evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and management of a wide range of gastrointestinal and hepatology conditions. Daily responsibilities include performing endoscopic procedures, supervising pre- and post-procedure care, reviewing investigations, and developing evidence-based treatment plans. The role involves close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, participation in clinical meetings, and contribution to protocols that align with the hospital’s quality and safety standards. The consultant will also engage in patient education, documentation in clinical systems, mentoring junior medical staff, and supporting quality improvement and clinical audit activities. Qualifications Advanced clinical expertise in gastroenterology and hepatology, including diagnostic evaluation and management of acute and chronic GI disorders. Proficiency in endoscopic procedures (e.g., upper GI endoscopy, colonoscopy) and related interventions, with a strong focus on patient safety and outcomes. Strong clinical judgment, evidence-based decision-making, and the ability to manage complex cases in a tertiary care setting. Effective communication and interpersonal skills for working with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams. Demonstrated ability to supervise, mentor, and guide junior doctors, nurses, and allied health professionals. Commitment to clinical governance, quality improvement, documentation accuracy, and adherence to hospital protocols. MD/DNB in Internal Medicine with DM/DNB in Gastroenterology (or equivalent recognized qualification) and valid registration with the appropriate medical council. Experience in a superspeciality or tertiary care hospital setting; exposure to technology-enabled or smart hospital environments is an advantage. Willingness to participate in on-call duties, flexible scheduling, and continuous professional development.
