This is a mechanical design engineer supporting defense and aerospace hardware programs. The hiring manager is not looking for a pure manufacturing engineer, maintenance engineer, or project engineer. The ideal profile is someone who has designed and developed complex mechanical or electromechanical hardware used in aerospace, defense, robotics, optical systems, weapons systems, satellites, sensors, or other high-reliability environments.
Day-to-DayDesign mechanical components and assemblies using CAD (likely Creo)Develop electromechanical products from concept through testingWork with electrical, systems, manufacturing, and test engineersBuild and test prototypes in a lab environmentTroubleshoot hardware issues and make design improvementsEnsure designs meet performance, reliability, and manufacturability requirementsSupport product qualification and production readiness
Must-HavesActive Top Secret ClearanceBachelor's Degree (Mechanical Engineering preferred)6+ years of engineering experienceMechanical design experienceExperience developing hardware products, not just supporting production

Compensation$50/hr to $70/hrExact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
