The Caring Place provides emergency shelter, residential programs, job training, education & computer literacy classes, healthcare, transitional housing, permanent housing, employment opportunities for homeless men, women, and children as well as programs for "at-risk" youth.We are currently seeking a FT Food Services Driver at the Broward Outreach Centers in Hollywood, FL.Job SummaryThe Food Services Driver (FSD) reports to the Food Services Supervisor and will provide donation pick-up, and storeroom organization. The FSD will pick up and record donations, track inventory in and out of the department, and prepare related reports.Core Duties/Responsibilities:Drives agency vehicle to pick up purchases and donations using the shortest and safest route. Issues receipts to donorsLoads donations onto vehicle and installs strapping, bracing and padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit when appropriateUnloads all purchases and donations. Opens all bales, boxes, crates and other containers containing donationsSorts, inventories, and places items on racks, shelves according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, color or product using FIFO (first-in, first-out) storage methods. Marks packages or cans with identifying information and dates when applicableAssists in maintaining storage areas in a safe and sanitary manner according to State of Florida health department regulationsMay deliver donations to other agencies upon request of FSSDemonstrates and maintains good customer service with donors, local businesses and vendorsCompletes driver's log after each use of agency vehicle. Reports maintenance problems to supervisor immediatelyAttends company sponsored events to support the residents we servePerforms other duties as assignedAssist supervisor in maintaining shipping and receiving logs and provide appropriate reports as neededAssist in procuring donated food and supplies by strengthening ties with vendors and developing new food service donorsWill lead and/or participate in devotions, prayers, or other ministry activities ex. outreach eventsMust be in agreement with and sign The Caring Place Statement of FaithPerforms other related duties as assignedEducation/Experience Requirements:Requires a High School diploma or GEDValid State of Florida driver's license (4 pt. max) with good driving record and receive approval of Mission's insurance company to drive company vehicleA State of Florida Food Handler's Certificate1 year office or warehouse work are preferredMust have knowledge of food storageRequires good customer service skills and a professional demeanor to effectively interact with all levels of clients, employees and outside contacts/vendorsConversational Spanish and Creole highly desirableMust have a minimum of one (1) year experience in a non-profit organization or general office settingMust be computer literate have experience with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook )Physical Requirements:Must be able to sit and stand for extended periods, and have the ability to lift and/or pull objects weighing up to 50 poundsMust also be able to see, hear and speak, in order to interact with staff and the general publicMust also be able to move around as needed to perform essential job dutiesPerks and Benefits:Day off for Birthday/Work AnniversaryEmployee DiscountsHolidays (12)Paid Time OffHealth Insurance (Medical, Dental, Vision, Disability, GAP and Health Savings Account)Company Paid Life insurance403b Retirement Plan with 3% matchOnly qualified candidates will be considered.
