Aircraft Maintenance Technician III COMAV TECHNICAL SERVICES LLC - 2.6 Victorville, CA Job Details Full-time $29 - $37 an hour 14 hours ago Benefits Tools provided Qualifications English High school diploma or GED Driver's License Full Job Description JOB SUMMARY The Aircraft Maintenance Technician (AMT) III is an advanced-level aircraft maintenance professional responsible for performing complex aircraft maintenance, repair, modification, preservation, and troubleshooting activities. This position serves as a technical resource within the maintenance organization, providing guidance and mentorship to less experienced technicians while supporting maintenance operations in accordance with approved technical data, FAA regulations, Repair Station procedures, and Company quality and safety standards. The AMT III performs advanced maintenance tasks with minimal supervision and supports the successful execution of heavy maintenance, modification, storage, and reactivation projects. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Perform complex aircraft maintenance, repair, modification, preservation, and servicing activities in accordance with approved technical data and established procedures. Perform advanced troubleshooting and fault isolation of aircraft systems, components, and maintenance discrepancies. Support heavy maintenance checks, aircraft modification projects, storage programs, preservation activities, and aircraft reactivation efforts. Remove, install, inspect, test, adjust, rig, and service aircraft structures, systems, and components as authorized. Interpret and apply maintenance manuals, engineering authorizations, repair specifications, work instructions, drawings, and regulatory requirements. Utilize approved technical data including Aircraft Maintenance Manuals (AMM), Component Maintenance Manuals (CMM), Repair Station Manuals (RSM), Engineering Orders (EO), and related technical publications. Review completed maintenance documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with Company procedures. Assist with workflow coordination and task execution to support production schedules and operational objectives. Identify maintenance discrepancies, determine corrective actions, and communicate technical findings to maintenance leadership. Train, mentor, and provide technical guidance to Aircraft Maintenance Technician I and II personnel. Support audits, customer visits, regulatory inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives. Maintain compliance with Company policies, FAA regulations, OSHA requirements, and quality standards. Perform other duties as assigned. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND QUALIFICATIONS Education & Certifications High School Diploma or GED required. Graduation from an Aviation Maintenance Technician School (AMTS) preferred. Technical, vocational, military, or aviation maintenance training preferred. Experience 4 - 7 years of aircraft maintenance experience preferred. Previous heavy maintenance, MRO, airline, military, or commercial aviation experience preferred. Demonstrated experience performing advanced maintenance tasks and troubleshooting aircraft systems. Experience utilizing approved technical data, engineering authorizations, and maintenance documentation. Experience mentoring or assisting less experienced technicians preferred. Qualifications Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Ability to obtain airport driving privileges. Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English. Ability to work flexible schedules, including overtime, weekends, holidays, and varying shifts. Ability to successfully complete required Company training and qualification programs. Tools Requirement Aircraft Maintenance Technicians III are not required to furnish personal tools as a condition of employment. The Company will provide the tools necessary for employees in this position to perform their assigned duties. Employees may voluntarily use their own personal tools, provided such use is authorized and the tools comply with all Company Tool Control, Tool Accountability, and Foreign Object Damage (FOD) Prevention (FOD) requirements. Employees who voluntarily use personal tools are responsible for maintaining those tools in good working condition and are solely responsible for their security, maintenance, and replacement. All personal tools used on Company premises must comply with the Company's Tool Control, Tool Accountability, and Foreign Object Damage (FOD) Prevention Program. Specialized tooling, calibrated equipment, test equipment, and Company-controlled tooling required to perform specific maintenance tasks will be provided by the Company. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Knowledge Advanced knowledge of aircraft maintenance principles, systems, structures, and repair procedures. Working knowledge of heavy maintenance operations, aircraft modifications, preservation programs, and aircraft reactivation processes. Knowledge of FAA regulations, Repair Station procedures, quality systems, and maintenance documentation requirements. Understanding of engineering authorizations, technical publications, and approved maintenance data. Knowledge of maintenance planning, workflow coordination, and production support processes. Understanding of troubleshooting methodologies and root cause analysis techniques. Skills Perform complex aircraft maintenance and modification activities with minimal supervision. Conduct advanced troubleshooting and fault isolation of aircraft systems and components. Interpret and apply technical manuals, engineering instructions, drawings, and maintenance documentation. Review maintenance documentation for accuracy and completeness. Utilize hand tools, power tools, precision measuring devices, testing equipment, and maintenance support equipment. Train and mentor less experienced technicians. Communicate technical information effectively to maintenance personnel and leadership. Support maintenance operations while maintaining quality, productivity, and safety standards. Abilities Work independently while exercising sound technical judgment within established procedures and authorization limits. WORK ENVIRONMENT Work is performed in aircraft hangars, maintenance facilities, airport ramps, and outdoor operational environments. Employees are routinely exposed to aircraft noise, moving machinery, elevated work platforms, and varying weather conditions. The position may require exposure to fuels, oils, hydraulic fluids, solvents, cleaning agents, and other materials commonly associated with aircraft maintenance. Employees are expected to comply with all Company safety policies, FAA regulations, OSHA standards, and PPE requirements. Overtime, shift work, weekend work, and holiday work may be required to support operational needs.
