Managing a large inventory of highly complex claims, the full-time California Senior Workers Comp Claims Specialist will evaluate compensability and liability, lead comprehensive claims investigations, and negotiate settlements while working remotely from the USA. Key responsibilities Evaluate compensability and liability for complex claims and manage investigations to confirm coverage Analyze and negotiate claim settlements and reserves within prescribed authority, including attending arbitrations and mediations Maintain accurate claim files and may provide coaching and performance management for staff Required qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Risk Management and Insurance, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience Minimum of 13 years of experience in property and casualty claims handling Completion of or progress toward a professional designation such as Associate in Claims (AIC) preferred Expert knowledge of insurance policies, coverage, and claims handling procedures Recognized as a subject matter expert with excellent analytical and negotiation skills
