ITW Global Automotive in India has 2 manufacturing facilities in Pune & Chennai and caters to majority of the Auto OEM's both national and multinational and their tier suppliers

The Opportunity:

A Senior Automation Engineer in automotive manufacturing automation plays a crucial role in advancing manufacturing processes through automation, ensuring systems operate efficiently and effectively, and driving continuous improvement within the production environment.

Roles & Responsibilities:

1. Researching and delivering new and advanced industrial solutions, upgrading machinery types, and incorporating current technology.

2. Coordinating mechanical/electronic engineering activities related to the development, procurement, installation, and calibration of instruments, equipment, and control devices required for testing and recording test data.

3. Selecting the necessary tools and materials for the manufacturing process.

4. Identifying innovative technologies that could benefit our operations.

5. Experience in developing various industrial applications and/or distributed systems, electronic controls, and communication, particularly focusing on interfaces and hardware-software integration.

6. Monitoring or calibrating automated systems, industrial control systems, or system components to maximize production efficiency.

7. Experience in reading and interpreting complex mechanical and technical drawings.

8. Supporting operational improvement and cost reduction activities by providing technical expertise in process and manufacturing methods.

9. Providing engineering and troubleshooting support to production and maintenance teams to resolve technical problems, equipment breakdowns, and drive process improvement.

10. Identifying areas for improvement in the production line or finished products, making recommendations, and implementing improvements.

11. Support production team to cater daily production requirement and smooth running of all Automation machines/systems/stations.

12. Support quality team to achieve zero defect goal and deliver quality parts to customers.

13. Support PPC team by maintaining smooth run/production of outsource parts with help of our assembly fixtures/stations.

14. Support NPD team for trials at supplier end, installation at ITW factory and machine proving.

15. Handle the Automation maintenance team.

Education & Experience:

Diploma/BE : Instrumentation/Mechatronics/E& TC/Electrical. For engineer 2-3 years of experience and for Sr. engineer 5-6 years in Automation projects, machine building, Gantry robot handling, Robot integration and teaching, Assembly machine maintenance. Hands on experience of PLC, HMI, Gantry robots & 6 axis robots. Very good knowledge of Electrical/Electronics components/equipment/systems.

Functional Skills:

Hands on experience of PLC : Mitsubishi, Siemens & Delta. Hands on experience of HMI : Mitsubishi, Delta & Omron. Hands on experience of 6 Axis Robots : Yaskawa, Fanuc. Hands on experience of Gantry robot : Wittmann, Wemo, Yushin, Start Seiki
