Job Description

Electrical Estimator About the Role One of our clients is seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join their team in Fairfield, CA. This position is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates and bid proposals for commercial electrical construction projects. The ideal candidate will have strong estimating experience, the ability to interpret construction drawings, and excellent analytical skills. Key Responsibilities Review project specifications, drawings, and bid documents to determine project scope and estimate requirements. Prepare detailed electrical cost estimates, including complete quantity takeoffs. Utilize estimating software to prepare and review estimates for accuracy and completeness. Solicit and evaluate pricing from suppliers and subcontractors. Analyze subcontractor and vendor quotations to ensure compliance with project plans and specifications. Quantify and price all labor, materials, equipment, rentals, tools, subcontract work, and project incidentals. Prepare bid packages, including inclusions, exclusions, and clarifications. Maintain organized estimating files and supporting documentation. Complete all required client bid documentation accurately and within deadlines. Participate in project handoff meetings with project management following successful bid awards to ensure a smooth transition. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field . Minimum 5 years of experience estimating commercial electrical construction projects . Strong understanding of commercial electrical systems, materials, and construction methods. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical drawings, and specifications. Advanced knowledge of electrical estimating principles and quantity takeoffs. Experience with EBM Estimating Software is preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) . Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously and work under tight deadlines. Self-motivated with strong organizational and time management skills. Preferred Skills Commercial electrical estimating experience. Vendor and subcontractor relationship management. Cost analysis and bid preparation. Construction documentation and contract review. Ability to work collaboratively with project managers, vendors, and clients. Work Schedule Monday through Friday 8-hour shift In-person position Relocation Candidates should be willing to relocate to Fairfield, CA before starting employment.
