This role is ideal for an early-to-mid-career developer who genuinely enjoys working in C++ and wants to expand their experience with Linux/Unix, networking, and real-time communications.
Salary Range: $70,000-80,000/annually, the rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Responsibilities:
Design, develop, test, and enhance applications primarily using C++Contribute to software architecture and object-oriented design decisionsDevelop features supporting reliable, real-time communicationsWork within Linux, Unix, or FreeBSD environmentsApply IP networking concepts within software applicationsTroubleshoot application and customer-related technical issuesParticipate in peer code reviews, unit testing, and continuous integration processesCollaborate with other engineers in an Agile development environmentLearn specialized technologies associated with VoIP, network communications, and secure communicationsContribute ideas for improving software, engineering practices, and overall product quality
Qualifications:
Approximately 2+ years of hands-on C++ development experience, ideally with C++ serving as a primary programming languageCandidates with strong C++ experience through significant independent, open-source, or personal projects may also be consideredUnderstanding of modern C++ concepts, object-oriented programming, and software design principlesFamiliarity with commonly used C++ libraries and tools, including STL; experience with Boost is beneficialExperience working with Linux, Unix, FreeBSD, or a comparable operating environmentFamiliarity with IP networking or network programmingSolid understanding of computer science fundamentals, including data structures and algorithmsBachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, a related technical discipline, or comparable practical experience
