Kapi'olani Medical Center for Women & Children is Hawai'is only maternity, newborn and pediatric specialty hospital. It is well recognized as Hawai'is leader in the care of women, infants and children. With 253 beds, the not-for-profit hospital delivers 6,000 babies a year, and is also a medical teaching and research facility. Specialty services for patients throughout Hawai'i and the Pacific Region include intensive care for infants and children, 24-hour emergency pediatric and adult care, critical care air transport and high-risk perinatal care. Over 1,400 employees and more than 700 physicians provide specialty care at Kapi'olani. The hospital is home to the Kapi'olani Womens Center and the Womens Cancer Center, and offers numerous community programs and services, such as specialty pediatric clinics, the Kapi'olani Child Protection Center and the Sex Abuse Treatment Center.
The Kapiolani Women's Cancer Center is the only facility of its kind in the state and is dedicated to the prevention and treatment of gynecologic cancers, including ovarian, endometrial, cervical, vulva, and vaginal cancers. Kapiolani strives to provide the highest level of women's cancer care in Hawaii and the Women's Cancer Center supports a comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach to cancer care, addressing all aspects of a woman's treatment, from her physical health to her mental and emotional well-being. In addition, the Center offers patients the opportunity to participate in state-of-the-art clinical trials in collaboration with the Cancer Research Center of Hawaii and the National Cancer Institute. Our highly qualified, multidisciplinary team includes board-certified, fellowship-trained GYN oncologists, medical and radiation oncologists, licensed and certified oncology nurses, a gynecologic oncology coordinator to educate patients and assist women through their individualized care plan, certified genetic counselors and other support services.
If you are a compassionate, sensitive caregiver and enjoy working in a team-oriented environment, you could be the ideal candidate for our Registered Nurse position at Kapiolanis Women's Cancer Center. You will provide nursing services through the assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation and documentation of patient care. You will also function as an associate to a charge nurse, and eventually assume charge nurse responsibilities. Minimum Qualifications: Current Hawaii Registered Nurse license. Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR card. One (1) year recent registered nurse experience in adult gynecological and breast chemotherapy administration/infusion in an acute care setting.
Preferred Qualifications: Two (2) years recent registered nurse experience in gynecological and breast oncology. Chemotherapy Certification. Current American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) CPR card.
