Salary' $125K- $165K base+ bonus
Role Overview
In this role, you will lead the delivery and lifecycle management of enterprise mainframe platforms, overseeing both hardware and software environments. You will drive modernization, innovation, and operational excellence while managing high-performing technical teams supporting critical z/OS systems.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead and oversee a broad portfolio of delivery projects supporting mainframe hardware and software lifecycle management.Manage teams responsible for administering multiple mainframe environments running on z/OS, leveraging technologies such as JCL, DB2, IMS, CICS, source code management tools, SDLC practices, and security frameworks (ACF2, RACF, TSS).Drive modernization initiatives by rethinking traditional service models and implementing innovative, automated, and scalable solutions.Partner with cross-functional teams including Data Center Services, Production Services, and Application Development to identify and shape new opportunities.Provide strategic leadership across the organization, fostering collaboration and alignment across business and technology stakeholders.Coach, mentor, and develop team members and managers, leveraging talent management processes to build a highly engaged and high-performing organization.Lead complex programs and projects, ensuring successful delivery and alignment with business objectives.Required Qualifications Education
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related fieldAdvanced certifications in infrastructure engineering or related disciplines (preferred)Experience
10+ years of diverse experience in information technologyProven experience in mainframe environments, including infrastructure, system programming, or application developmentExperience leading technical teams and managing complex programs or projectsFinancial services or securities industry experience is a plusCore SkillsStrong expertise in infrastructure design, implementation, and architecture principlesDeep understanding of mainframe technologies and environmentsExcellent analytical and problem-solving abilitiesStrong leadership, collaboration, and communication skillsAbility to influence stakeholders and communicate complex technical concepts clearly across all organizational levelsExperience managing across teams, functions, and client environmentsPreferred Technical ExpertiseKnowledge in one or more mainframe disciplinesITIL / ITSM practices (Release, Change, CMDB)Installation and maintenance of IBM operating systems and ISV softwarez/OS, PARMLIB, Unix System Services, HCDSMP/E and maintenance processesJCL and system IPL processesISPF / TSOExperience building and maintaining mainframe platforms and frameworksFamiliarity with tooling, utilities, and data transport mechanisms
