<p> MYP Individuals &amp; Societies (I&amp; S) and DP History Teacher </p> <p> To deliver high-quality, inquiry-based teaching in IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) Individuals &amp; Societies and IB Diploma Programme (DP) History , fostering critical thinking, international-mindedness, research skills, and a deep understanding of historical and contemporary global issues in alignment with the IB philosophy. MYP Individuals &amp; Societies integrates disciplines such as history, geography, economics, civics, politics and related humanities subjects. </p> <p> Key Responsibilities </p> <p>1. Curriculum Planning &amp; Delivery </p> Teach MYP Individuals &amp; Societies (Grades 6–10) and DP History (Grades 11–12). Design concept-driven, inquiry-based units aligned with IB curriculum frameworks. Develop Unit Planners using: Key &amp; Related Concepts Global Contexts Statement of Inquiry Inquiry Questions ATL (Approaches to Learning) Skills Integrate interdisciplinary learning experiences. Promote historical inquiry using primary and secondary sources. Connect historical events with present-day global issues. <p>2. Teaching &amp; Learning </p> Deliver engaging lessons using: Inquiry-based learning Project-based learning Collaborative learning Debates Simulations Case studies Research activities Encourage analytical thinking, interpretation, and evaluation of evidence. Differentiate instruction to support diverse learning needs. Effectively integrate educational technology into teaching. <p>3. Assessment </p> Design formative and summative assessments aligned with: MYP Assessment Criteria (A, B, C &amp; D) DP History Assessment Objectives Provide timely and constructive feedback. Maintain student portfolios and assessment records. Prepare students for: MYP e Assessment (where applicable) DP Internal Assessment (Historical Investigation) DP External Examinations <p>4. Student Development </p> Promote the IB Learner Profile attributes. Develop students' research, communication, collaboration and reflection skills. Mentor students for: Personal Project (MYP) Extended Essay (History) where assigned CAS reflections (if applicable) Provide pastoral care and academic guidance. <p>5. Collaboration </p> Work closely with: MYP &amp; DP Coordinators Humanities Department Learning Support Team Librarian Participate in curriculum review and collaborative planning. Attend parent-teacher meetings and student conferences. Support school accreditation and IB evaluation processes. <p>6. Professional Responsibilities </p> Participate in IB workshops and professional development. Stay updated with IB curriculum changes and assessment practices. Maintain classroom resources and documentation. Contribute to extracurricular activities, educational trips, Model United Nations (MUN), History Clubs and community engagement initiatives. <p> Qualifications </p> <p> Essential </p> Master's Degree in History / Political Science / International Relations / Humanities or related discipline. B. Ed. or equivalent teaching qualification. IB MYP and/or DP training (Category 1/2 preferred). Excellent English communication skills. <p> Preferred </p> IB teaching certification. Experience with international curricula. Experience teaching both MYP and DP History. <p> Experience </p> Minimum 3–5 years teaching experience in History/Humanities. Prior experience in an IB World School is highly desirable. Experience teaching both MYP Individuals &amp; Societies and DP History is preferred.
