JOB SUMMARY

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides safe, high-quality, age-appropriate nursing care to patients within Levindale's HICU. As a member of the interdisciplinary patient care team, the RN serves as a clinical resource and advocate for patients and their families while supporting patients with complex medical and respiratory needs.

The RN conducts and documents initial and ongoing patient assessments, gathers information relevant to each patient's individual needs, and develops an individualized plan of care. The RN implements and documents nursing interventions, provides patient and family education, and evaluates patient outcomes to ensure the delivery of safe, effective, and compassionate care.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct and document comprehensive initial and ongoing nursing assessments.

  • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care.

  • Provide direct nursing care to patients with complex medical and respiratory needs.

  • Monitor patient condition and recognize and respond appropriately to changes in clinical status.

  • Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and established nursing standards.

  • Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, nursing staff, rehabilitation professionals, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team.

  • Provide education and support to patients and families regarding the plan of care, treatment, and ongoing healthcare needs.

  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.

  • Utilize critical-thinking and nursing-process skills in accordance with the Maryland Nurse Practice Act.

  • Promote a safe, compassionate, patient-centered environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Current Maryland Registered Nurse (RN) license.

  • Associate's degree in Nursing or equivalent required.

  • American Heart Association CPR/BLS certification required.

  • Less than one year of nursing experience required; new graduate RNs may be considered.

  • Knowledge of the nursing process and Maryland Nurse Practice Act.

  • Strong clinical assessment, critical-thinking, communication, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to safely operate and utilize medical equipment.

  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology.

  • Experience with Cerner, Synquest Standard, Microsoft Office Suite, and standard office equipment preferred.

Pay Range: $37.15 to $57.58 Based On Experience
