We’re working with a growing insurance brokerage looking for a Commercial Account Handler to join its friendly Gravesend team. This is an opportunity to take ownership of your own client portfolio, broaden your technical knowledge and make a valued contribution to a close-knit business. An interesting mix of clients Alongside general commercial insurance, the brokerage works with specialist sectors including petrochemical businesses and travelling fairgrounds. This offers variety and the opportunity to develop your knowledge beyond everyday commercial risks. The business currently handles approximately £17 million in premium, with plans to exceed £20 million by the end of the year. It also holds partner status with several major composite insurers. The role You’ll work closely with clients, insurers and colleagues to provide a responsive, personal service throughout the policy lifecycle. Your responsibilities will include: Managing your own portfolio of commercial clients and handling day-to-day enquiries. Preparing renewals, negotiating terms and obtaining quotations from insurers. Processing new business, mid-term adjustments and policy amendments. Producing accurate documentation and maintaining records on Acturis. Supporting clients with claims-related enquiries. Building lasting relationships with clients and insurer contacts. Supporting junior colleagues and sharing your knowledge. Maintaining appropriate compliance and service standards. What we’re looking for You’ll have at least two to three years’ experience within commercial insurance broking and be confident managing client relationships and handling renewals, new business and policy changes. Experience using Acturis is ideally sought, while e-trade processing experience would also be an advantage. You’ll also bring: A sound understanding of commercial insurance products. Clear communication skills and a helpful, client-focused approach. Strong organisation and attention to detail. The ability to manage your workload independently while contributing to the wider team. Progress towards Cert CII would be welcome, but is not essential. Why consider this opportunity? £28,000–£38,000 salary, depending on experience.
