Priority Application Deadline: August 31, 2026 FLSA Status: Exempt Starting Salary: $79,595 - $92,861 (Step I), $92,861 - $106,126 (Step II) Work Location: Hybrid --------------------------------------------------------------- About the Position As the Associate Director of Alumni Engagement, you'll play a vital role in leading initiatives, programs, and events that drive experiential engagement. You'll leverage your relationship-building and organizational skills to oversee the volunteer resources required to sustain and grow regional and affinity alumni chapters, engage alumni in high-leverage markets where no chapter exists, and systematically and strategically partner with alumni volunteers to maximize attendance during Alumni Weekend. You'll also support the execution of other key alumni and student events throughout the year. What You'll Be Doing

REGIONAL & AFFINITY ENGAGEMENT

  • Lead and oversee the growth and stewardship of regional and affinity chapters at OHSU
  • Support volunteer chapter leadership teams through regular communication, team meetings, goal setting, and leadership development plans, partnering with the Assistant Vice President of Alumni Engagement on volunteer leadership development and chapter leader transitions
  • Plan and coordinate 3-4 regional events a year for existing chapters in Central Oregon and Boise, and manage each chapter's budget
  • Coordinate with alumni team members on event emails and chapter newsletters
  • Partner with Development colleagues to plan and execute a dinner series for alumni in high-leverage markets

ALUMNI WEEKEND ENGAGEMENT

  • Analyze each milestone class and identify class connectors, providing 10+ months of communication and support
  • Partner with class connectors to maximize outreach to alumni using multiple modes of communication
  • Work closely with Alumni and Foundation colleagues to determine email, event, and day-of logistics support for each class gathering
  • Collaborate with Development partners on possible class scholarships and subsequent Annual Giving appeals
  • Lead the creation of BrightCrowd class books and communication about the platform to increase engagement and connection

EXPERIENTIAL ENGAGEMENT SUPPORT

  • Support the Director of Alumni Engagement on the production of Alumni Weekend
  • Assist with the coordination of signature events for OHSU alumni, including the School of Medicine Holiday Reception and the School of Dentistry Alumni Awards Celebration
  • Collaborate with alumni team partners on student milestone events, as well as stewardship of volunteers on the Alumni Leadership Councils

  • You're comfortable working in a fast-paced, reactive environment
  • You have strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to independently manage and prioritize multiple projects and tasks
  • You have exceptional attention to detail
  • You have demonstrated interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate professionally, diplomatically, and productively with contacts at all levels, including faculty, council members, donors, and other colleagues
  • You take initiative, are self-directed, and demonstrate a high level of accountability
  • You have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • You're proficient in the Microsoft Office suite, with advanced knowledge of Outlook, Excel, and Word
  • You're compassionate and culturally responsive, with the ability to work with internal and external individuals and groups from diverse backgrounds and lived experiences
You Should Have
  • 2+ years of experience in an administrative support function
  • Experience with project coordination
  • Event fundraising experience preferred
  • Foundation, healthcare, or university experience preferred
  • Experience working in Salesforce or another CRM preferred

  • Occasional hours outside of normal work hours for meetings or programs
  • Hybrid schedule with onsite work required approximately 3 days per week (variable based on team needs, events, and other activities)
  • Extensive computer-based work, including typing, meeting attendance, document review, and data entry
  • Frequent interruptions and shifting priorities
  • Some local travel may be necessary for events
Salary

$79,575—$106,126 USD

Pay Salary is dependent on experience. Each salary band is broken into three "steps," which correspond with an employee’s experience/tenure, proficiency and performance in that specific role. New employees will typically start at step I of our pay band to allow for later growth, although more experienced candidates may be eligible to start at step II or III. The OHSU Foundation has a structured process for determining starting compensation, taking into account years of related experience, applicable skills, knowledge and abilities, market parity, and internal equity.
