ABOUT THE ROLE

CultureCareers manages volunteer programmes for cultural clients across India. We are recruiting experienced coordinators for a client project in Goa, running across two phases: remote volunteer screening from late September to November, and full on-ground coordination across a two-week deployment..

This is a senior on-ground role. You will be the person volunteers turn to when something goes wrong, across multiple venues, over consecutive days.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Remote phase, late September to November

  • Conduct structured screening calls with volunteer applicants and assess them against role-specific criteria
  • Manage shortlists, documentation and volunteer communication
  • Coordinate with the CultureCareers lead on pipeline progress

On-ground phase, December, Goa

  • Deploy and supervise volunteers across multiple venues
  • Run daily briefings and shift handovers
  • Manage attendance, rotation and real-time problem solving on site
  • Act as first point of contact for volunteers throughout the deployment
  • Report daily to the CultureCareers lead

WHAT YOU MUST HAVE

  • Direct experience managing volunteers, promoters or on-ground teams at a festival, cultural event, exhibition or large-scale public programme
  • Comfortable running structured phone or video screening calls
  • Strong working knowledge of Goa: geography, venues and local networks
  • Full availability in Goa across the December deployment. Exact dates confirmed at shortlisting. This is non-negotiable
  • Availability remotely from late September for screening calls
  • Strong communication in English and Hindi. Konkani or Marathi is an advantage
  • Calm under pressure and comfortable in a fast-moving, multi-venue environment

Composure. Calm, patient and solution-oriented when plans change.

Initiative. Able to think on your feet, take ownership and respond quickly.

Adaptability. Comfortable with shifting environments and priorities.

Service. Warm, professional and helpful with volunteers and attendees alike.

Multitasking. Able to hold several priorities at once and still deliver.

This role is not suitable for anyone unable to commit to the full deployment, or without hands-on experience managing groups at an event or programme.

REMUNERATION AND SUPPORT

Remuneration discussed at shortlisting.

Return flights to Goa, accommodation for the full on-ground period, local transport throughout, and daily meals.
