I’m working with an established international gold producer with multiple producing operations across North and South America, alongside a strong pipeline of development and exploration assets.
They’re looking to appoint a Principal Geologist to join their Resource Development team, reporting to the Resource Development Director, and play a key role in identifying, evaluating and advancing brownfield exploration opportunities across the portfolio.
The role is based at the company's Denver headquarters, with approximately 25% travel to operating and exploration assets.
This is a technically focused position with exposure to a broad range of exploration and resource development activities, including:Leading the generation and evaluation of brownfield targets across mine, near-mine and regional environmentsIntegrating geological, geochemical, geophysical and drilling datasets to develop and refine exploration hypothesesDeveloping and continuously refining geological interpretations and 3D models to support target advancementLeading litho-structural mapping and field investigationsProviding technical oversight and peer review of drill programs across the portfolioReviewing and prioritising exploration targets and presenting technical recommendations to senior stakeholdersLeading the consolidation, maintenance and continuous improvement of geological datasets and GIS platforms across the portfolioEvaluating and applying new exploration techniques, technologies and datasets to improve targeting effectivenessWorking closely with site geology, resource geology, mine geology and technical services teams to improve orebody understanding and align exploration activities with business prioritiesProviding technical leadership, guidance and mentorship to geologists and technicians
What they’re looking for:Strong experience in litho-structural mappingSignificant experience in brownfield exploration and target generation, ideally within precious metals environmentsExperience working in orogenic, epithermal and/or Carlin gold systemsStrong GIS capability, with ArcGIS Pro experience an advantageProficiency with Leapfrog Geo or equivalent 3D modelling softwareStrong geological interpretation and exploration targeting capabilityProven ability to communicate technical interpretations and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including senior leadershipA collaborative approach and strong commitment to HSEC standardsWillingness to travel approximately 25% across the company's operating and exploration assets throughout North and South America
