Our work spans higher education, healthcare, K-12 schools, municipal and civic facilities, cultural venues, athletics, manufacturing, multifamily housing, renovations, additions, and new construction.We work closely with architects, contractors, owners, and public agencies, giving our engineers exposure to a wide variety of project types, structural systems, clients, and design challenges.
What You'll DoResponsibilities will vary based on experience and may include:Structural analysis and design of new buildingsStructural condition assessments, evaluations, and repair or restoration designs for existing buildingsDesign and detailing of steel, concrete, masonry, wood, various types of foundation systems, and exposure to antiquated structural systemsDevelopment and coordination of structural construction documentsCollaboration with architects, owners, contractors, and other design consultantsConstruction administration, site visits, field observations, and investigationsProject coordination and managementClient communication and relationship developmentMentoring and technical guidance for developing engineersParticipation in the continued growth of Dunbar's Charlotte practiceExperienced candidates will have opportunities for increasing project, client, technical, and leadership responsibility based on their interests and experience.
What We're Looking ForStrong candidates will bring:Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasisProfessional experience in structural building designEIT certification and/or PE licensure appropriate to experience levelProficiency in Autodesk RevitExperience with structural analysis and design softwareStrong written and verbal communication skillsSound technical judgment and attention to detailInitiative, curiosity, and an interest in taking greater ownership of projects and client relationshipsEligibility to work in the United StatesWe encourage qualified structural engineers across experience levels to apply, even if your background does not match every item listed above. xzbcwsv
