Fashion Designer — Womenswear Location: Mumbai Experience: 2–3 years Role: Full-time Label Society is looking for a Fashion Designer to join our growing team in Mumbai. We’re looking for someone who is deeply interested in design, fabrics and the process of building a collection from the ground up. Someone with a strong point of view, good technical understanding, and the ability to take an idea from a sketch all the way to a finished garment. This role at its core includes design and collection development, researching, conceptualising and developing new collections while working closely with our vendors and production team to bring them to life. Key responsibilities Develop new collections from concept to final garment, in line with the direction of the brand. Research and develop silhouettes, fabrics, details, techniques and finishes Create and develop designs, working closely through the sampling and refinement process Work on fittings, corrections and garment development to ensure strong fit and finish Coordinate closely with masters, karigars, vendors and production units throughout the development process Source and explore fabrics, trims and materials from markets and vendors Maintain a strong understanding of garment construction, fabrics, fits and finishing Oversee sampling and ensure designs are translated accurately into finished garments Manage timelines and follow-ups across the collection development and production process Maintain records of styles, samples, fabrics and collection development through tech packs Contribute to creative ideation for Label Society’s social media Assist with content edits, styling and visual development when required Contribute to the world-building of Label Society and helping shape how our clothes, references, ideas and aesthetic are communicated beyond the garments themselves What we’re looking for 2–3 years of experience in womenswear fashion design is preferred Strong technical understanding of fabrics, garment construction, fits and finishing Experience in developing collections and taking designs through sampling and production Strong understanding of sourcing, vendors and production processes A good eye for proportion, detail, silhouette and overall aesthetics Proficiency in relevant design softwares Strong communication and organisational skills Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects and meet timelines Someone who is hands-on, curious and comfortable being involved in both the creative and executional sides of the process
