Role Description:
The Doctor will be responsible for providing comprehensive medical care to patients undergoing rehabilitation, with a focus on stroke rehabilitation, neurological recovery, chronic medical conditions, and dependent/bed-ridden patients .
The role involves clinical assessment, consulting patients, diagnosis, treatment planning, monitoring of patient progress, management of medical emergencies, coordination with the multidisciplinary rehabilitation team, and communication with patients and their families.

Qualifications :
Essential:
- MD PMR from a recognized medical institution.
- Valid registration with the appropriate State Medical Council / National Medical Commission as applicable.
- 3–5 years of post-qualification clinical experience.
Preferred:
- Experience in rehabilitation, stroke care, neurology, geriatrics, internal medicine, or management of dependent/bed-ridden patients.
- Additional qualification or certification in rehabilitation medicine, emergency care, or a related field will be an advantage.

Key Responsibilities:
A. Patient Care & Clinical Management:
- Conduct initial and periodic medical assessments of patients. Develop and implement appropriate medical treatment plans.
- Monitor vital signs, clinical status, and changes in patient condition.
- Manage common medical conditions and complications associated with stroke, neurological disorders, immobility, and long-term dependency.
- Identify early signs of deterioration and initiate timely intervention.
- Coordinate investigations such as blood tests, imaging, ECG, and other diagnostic procedures when required.
- Ensure appropriate preventive and supportive care for dependent and bed-ridden patients.
B. Stroke & Rehabilitation Care:
- Participate in the medical management of stroke and neurological rehabilitation patients.
- Work closely with physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, nurses, dietitians, and other rehabilitation professionals.
- Support development and review of individualized rehabilitation goals.
- Monitor medical factors that may affect rehabilitation outcomes.
- Manage complications such as infections, aspiration risk, pressure injuries, constipation, dehydration, nutritional issues, and other complications related to immobility.
C. Emergency & Critical Care
- Respond promptly to medical emergencies within the center.
- Stabilize patients and coordinate referrals or transfers to appropriate hospitals when required.
- Maintain appropriate emergency protocols and ensure availability of essential emergency medications and equipment.
- Provide clinical guidance to nursing and support staff during emergencies.
D. Patient & Family Communication
- Communicate medical conditions, treatment plans, progress, and concerns clearly and professionally to patients and their attendants/families.
- Provide appropriate counselling regarding treatment, rehabilitation, medication compliance, and preventive care.
- Address patient and family concerns in a professional and empathetic manner.
- Maintain appropriate professional boundaries and confidentiality at all times.
E. Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation and medical records.
- Record patient assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, prescriptions, and follow-up recommendations.
- Ensure compliance with applicable healthcare standards, organizational policies, and clinical protocols.
- Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and patient safety programs.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and medical records.
F. Team Coordination
- Provide clinical guidance & support to nursing and caregiving teams.
- Conduct or participate in clinical meetings and patient review meetings.
- Coordinate effectively with the multidisciplinary rehabilitation team.
- Provide appropriate instructions to nursing staff regarding patient monitoring and care.
- Support staff training on basic clinical and emergency care practices where required.

Working Environment :
The position is based at SENSE Health Advance Rehabilitation Center, Kalyan Nagar, Bengaluru , and involves working closely with patients requiring rehabilitation and ongoing medical support. The doctor may be required to participate in patient reviews, emergency management, multidisciplinary meetings, and coordination with external hospitals/specialists when necessary.
