Assistant Professor in Remote Sensing and or Geoinformatics in the Department of Natural and Applied Sciences Last Date to Apply: Sept 10, 2026 Advertisement No: TSAS/ACAD/2026/25 The University invites applications from highly motivated and qualified candidates for the post of Assistant Professor in Remote Sensing and or Geoinformatics and experience in AI/ML/DL for earth observation (EO), and an interest in risk assessment methodologies for disaster risk reduction in mountain ecosystems/ocean ecosystems. The selected candidate is expected to contribute towards inter-disciplinary teaching, research, curriculum development, and academic administration. Ideally the candidate should have demonstrated ability to develop national and international collaborations for attracting research funding. The candidate should be able to design and teach courses in remote sensing and its applications in Earth Observations, usage of AI/ML/DL models for environmental applications. Number of Post: 1 (One) Regular Eligibility Criteria for Assistant Professor: i. A Master’s Degree with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) ii. National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC or the CSIR, or a similar test accredited by the UGC, like SLET/SET or who are or have been awarded a Ph. D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission Desirable Qualification for Assistant Professor: • Ph.D. in Remote Sensing/Geoinformatics or allied areas relevant to Environmental Sciences/Environmental Engineering • M. Tech./M.Sc. in relevant discipline with strong background in Remote Sensing, Geoinformatics, Environmental Sciences, Ecosystems • Undergraduate degree in Sciences/Engineering is desirable Pay Scale: • Under the prescribed U.G.C.
