Key responsibilities:
- Financial accounting and close
- Own the monthly close timetable and standards across all APAC entities and brands, holding the Finance Manager and team accountable for completeness, accuracy and timely delivery.
- Hold final ownership of general ledger integrity, ensuring journals, accruals, prepayments, intercompany balances, fixed assets and balance sheet reconciliations are reviewed and signed off.
- Review and sign off monthly profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow results, ensuring unusual movements are investigated and issues resolved or escalated to the CFO.
- Set and maintain accounting policies across the function, ensuring supporting schedules and evidence for key balances and estimates meet group standards.
Management reporting, planning and commercial support:
- Own weekly and monthly management reporting, dashboards and Board reporting inputs, providing clear commentary on performance against budget, forecast and prior periods to senior stakeholders.
- Lead the budgeting, reforecasting and cash flow forecasting process, challenging assumptions and consolidating inputs from business stakeholders.
- Drive analysis and performance measures that improve accountability and business visibility, partnering with the CFO on commercial decision-making.
Financial control, compliance and audit:
- Own the financial control environment end-to-end, with documented reconciliations, review evidence, delegated authority compliance and clear accountability for all key controls.
- Act as the primary relationship owner for external audit and statutory accounts, taking ultimate accountability for evidence gathering, audit outcomes and stakeholder sign-off.
- Own accurate and timely BAS, GST, FBT, income tax, payroll tax and other statutory filings, working directly with external advisers and briefing the CFO on material positions.
- Lead tax governance and ATO assurance activity, ensuring control or documentation gaps are remediated and tracking actions through to completion.
- Ensure finance records are retained appropriately and sensitive information is handled in line with company requirements.
Cash, working capital and banking:
- Own short-term and medium-term cash forecasting, bank reconciliations, payment controls and working-capital reporting, escalating risks to the CFO.
- Oversee receivables, payables and overdue items, ensuring the Finance Manager and operational teams resolve invoice, supplier and customer issues promptly.
- Own banking administration, funding and cross-entity cash requirements within delegated authority.
Team leadership and stakeholder management:
- Lead, coach and develop the Finance Manager and wider finance team, setting clear priorities and holding the team accountable for the quality and timeliness of outputs.
- Build organizational capability, succession planning and process resilience across the finance function.
- Act as a trusted finance partner to Payroll, Operations, Group Finance, the CFO and external advisers, maintaining clear accountability and constructive communication.
- Champion a service-focused, respectful and improvement-oriented finance culture across the team.
Systems, process improvement and change:
- Own core finance processes, standard operating procedures, close checklists and reporting controls, setting the standard for the wider function.
- Sponsor automation, standardization and data-quality improvements that reduce risk and manual effort.
- Lead finance-system implementations, integrations, testing, data migration and adoption, ensuring control requirements are embedded in redesigned processes.
- Monitor emerging accounting, tax and regulatory developments, translating them into practical actions and briefing the CFO and senior stakeholders as needed.
Indicative success measures:
- Accurate and timely close, reconciliations, management reporting and forecast submissions across the APAC finance function.
- Clean audit and statutory outcomes, with complete, well-organized and reviewable evidence.
- Control issues, reconciling items and compliance actions identified early and resolved within agreed timeframes.
- Reliable cash visibility and proactive management of working-capital risks.
- Senior stakeholders and the Board receive clear, practical insight and responsive support.
- Team capability, process documentation and system efficiency improve over time, with a strong pipeline of finance talent.

Work experience and attributes:
Essential:
- Bachelor degree in accounting, finance or a related discipline.
- CA, CPA or equivalent professional qualification, fully qualified.
- Significant post-qualification experience in a senior finance leadership role, including month-end close, statutory reporting, audit and Australian tax compliance.
- Proven experience leading and developing finance managers and teams, ideally across a multi-entity or multi-brand environment.
- Advanced Excel capability and sound experience with accounting, reporting and consolidation systems.
- Strong judgement, attention to detail and ability to deliver to tight deadlines in a high-volume environment.
- Confident, clear communicator, comfortable presenting to and influencing senior stakeholders and the Board.
- Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in a cash-constrained environment, proactively managing liquidity, working capital and competing financial priorities.
- Strong ownership mindset with a track record of driving continuous improvement
Desired:
- Experience in labour hire, recruitment, managed services, payroll or another transaction-intensive service environment.
- Experience across multiple entities, brands or APAC jurisdictions.
- Knowledge of Xero, Workday or comparable finance and operational systems.
- Experience with finance transformation, system implementation, data migration or process automation.
- Exposure to tax governance, GST assurance reviews, transfer pricing or cross-border finance matters.
