Deputy Director - Office of Admissions

Very reputed interdisciplinary University · India

FULL TIME

Job Description

Position: Deputy Director – Office of Admissions

Location: New Delhi

Organisation: Very Reputed interdisciplinary University in Delhi/NCR, India

Compensation: upto 50LPA

Role Overview:

We are hiring, on behalf of a premier liberal arts and sciences university, a Deputy Director for its Office of Admissions — a role at the heart of how the institution selects the students who shape its community. This is not an outreach, marketing, or student-recruitment role. It's an academic evaluation and decision-making leadership position — reviewing applications, running interview panels, making scholarship and admit calls, and guiding families through some of the most important decisions of their lives.

What you'll do

  • Lead academic quality control across application review, shortlisting, and student interviews
  • Own due diligence on admissions and scholarship decisions
  • Be the calm, credible voice for parents and students navigating decisions and retention conversations
  • Elevate the academic rigour and evaluative depth of the wider admissions team
  • Travel periodically to meet students and families

What we're looking for

  • 14–18 years of experience, with 10+ years leading or working closely within teams
  • A genuine, credible interest in liberal education, ideas, and current affairs — this isn't a checkbox, it shows up in every conversation and decision you'll make here
  • Excellent written and verbal communication — you'll be reading essays, writing decisions, and speaking with anxious parents in the same week
  • Comfort with data and analysis to inform (not replace) human judgement
  • An empathetic, patient, perceptive listener who can hold difficult conversations with grace
  • A proactive, detail-obsessed operator who thrives under deadline pressure

How to apply

Send your CV along with a half-page note on your fitment for this role to admin@hilofyworld.com

Non-Negotiables

  • Excellent command of written and spoken English
  • Based in or willing to relocate to Delhi-NCR
  • Willing to work within a compressed, cyclical admissions calendar (Oct–Jul) with periodic travel
