The FX Lead leads the FX team in delivering high-quality visual effects across feature films, episodic content, and immersive projects. This role combines creative vision with technical expertise, ensuring that simulations and procedural effects meet both artistic and production standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and mentor FX artists, fostering growth and maintaining high-quality output.
• Assign tasks, manage schedules, and ensure timely delivery of FX shots.
• Act as the primary point of contact between FX, CG, and compositing teams.
• Oversee the design and execution of complex FX simulations (fire, smoke, water, destruction, particles, magical effects, etc.).
• Ensure FX assets are optimized for rendering and pipeline integration.
• Troubleshoot technical challenges and provide solutions for efficiency and scalability.
• Work closely with directors, VFX supervisors, and department leads to interpret creative briefs.
• Ensure FX work enhances storytelling and aligns with the project’s visual style.
• Provide creative input on shot design and FX aesthetics.
• Collaborate with pipeline TDs to improve FX workflows and tools.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies (real-time FX, procedural systems, AI-driven simulations).
• Drive innovation in FX techniques to push creative boundaries.

Qualification:

• 7+ years of professional experience in FX for film, TV, or games.
• Proven expertise in Houdini, Maya, Nuke (Unreal Engine knowledge is a plus).
• Strong understanding of physics-based simulations and procedural workflows.
• Experience supervising teams and managing production schedules.
• Proficiency in scripting (Python, VEX, MEL) for automation and pipeline integration.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
