Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Tool Design / Manufacturing Design Engineer with hands-on experience in Airbus programs. The ideal candidate should have expertise in tooling design, manufacturing engineering, CATIA V5, and Design for Manufacturing (DFM). The candidate will support aircraft structural assembly tooling, manufacturing processes, engineering changes, and product development activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop manufacturing tooling, jigs, fixtures, drilling fixtures, assembly fixtures, checking fixtures, and machining fixtures for aerospace structures.
- Create and modify 3D models, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings using CATIA V5.
- Perform Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) reviews.
- Develop manufacturing installations and assembly layouts.
- Support Airbus aircraft programs such as A350, A330, A320 Family, or C295.
- Perform clash analysis and ensure manufacturability of designs.
- Work on engineering changes (ECR/ECO/CR) and change management activities.
- Create and review MBD (Model-Based Definition) and GD&T in accordance with ASME Y14.5 standards.
- Ensure compliance with Airbus manufacturing and quality standards.
- Coordinate with production, manufacturing, quality, and design teams to resolve technical issues.
- Support PLM activities including CAD data management and model releases.
- Participate in design reviews and provide technical solutions for manufacturing challenges.
Required Skills
- Strong experience in Tool Design and Manufacturing Engineering.
- Hands-on experience with CATIA V5 (Part Design, Assembly Design, Sheet Metal, Surface, Drafting, MBD/FTA).
- Good understanding of aerospace structures and manufacturing processes.
- Experience designing assembly jigs, drilling fixtures, holding fixtures, machining fixtures, and checking fixtures.
- Knowledge of GD&T (ASME Y14.5).
- Experience with PLM tools.
- Understanding of fabrication, assembly, tooling, fasteners, welding, adhesives, and aerospace materials.
- Experience in engineering change management.
- Ability to perform 3D quality checks and clash analysis.
Preferred Skills
- Airbus program experience (A350, A330, A320 Family, C295).
- Experience in manufacturing engineering and tooling development.
- Knowledge of MBD (Model-Based Definition) and Functional Tolerancing & Annotation (FTA).
- Experience with NX, Creo, or AutoCAD is an added advantage.
- Team handling or project coordination experience.
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Aeronautical, Aerospace, Manufacturing Engineering, or related discipline.
