Operations Manager – Transportation Services

Advanced Personnel Resources is seeking an experienced Operations Manager – Transportation Services for a confidential direct-hire opportunity in the Greensboro/Triad area.We are looking for a motivated, hands-on leader who brings strong operational management skills, proven supervisory experience, and the ability to coordinate resources effectively in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment.The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver who can successfully balance daily operational responsibilities with employee development, process improvement, and organizational goals.This opportunity is well-suited for an individual who enjoys leading teams, improving operational efficiency, and contributing to the continued success of an established organization.Location: Greensboro/Triad Area, NCEmployment Type: Full-Time, Direct HireSalary: $60,000–$65,000 AnnuallySchedule: Monday–FridayKey ResponsibilitiesProvide leadership and direction to employees responsible for daily service and operational activities.Coordinate staffing resources, employee schedules, and daily work assignments to maintain efficient operations.Monitor operational performance, identify challenges, and implement practical solutions.Supervise, coach, and develop employees while promoting accountability, teamwork, and professional growth.Collaborate with leadership to improve operational procedures, productivity, and overall service delivery.Oversee departmental resources, equipment, and operational requirements to ensure continued readiness.Support workforce planning, employee onboarding, training, and performance management.Monitor departmental expenses and identify opportunities to improve cost efficiency.Maintain accurate operational documentation, reports, and performance records.Promote compliance with organizational policies, workplace safety requirements, and established procedures.Communicate operational updates, challenges, and recommendations to management.Identify and implement process improvements that support organizational efficiency and service quality.Required QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED required.Minimum of two years of experience in transportation operations, including supervisory or administrative responsibilities.Demonstrated experience supervising employees and coordinating daily operational activities.Strong organizational, leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.Experience managing schedules, staffing assignments, and competing operational priorities.Ability to respond effectively to changing operational demands while maintaining productivity and service standards.Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and general business software.Valid North Carolina driver's license and satisfactory driving record.Preferred QualificationsThree or more years of progressive experience in transportation, logistics, field services, or related operations management.Previous experience leading teams in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment.Familiarity with operational budgets, performance metrics, and expense management.Experience coordinating resources, vendors, service providers, or multiple operational functions.Additional education or professional training in business administration, operations management, transportation, or a related field.
